Embracing Minnesota Snow for Your Engagement Session
Living in this great freezing state of Minnesota means a large part of our year consists of snowy white ground and temperatures that are well below freezing. So what happens when you get engaged, need photos for save the dates, and it's the middle of winter? You embrace it and go for it! I promise it's a lot of fun!
When it comes to a winter engagement session you have a few options, and no not all of them include snow if you're not into that sort of thing. Like the session below you can choose to have yours out in the snow -- running, jumping, and rolling around in it. Or you can choose to have a session half inside and half outside like the other session found below. Maybe you spend the first half sipping coffee together in a coffee shop or sharing a slice of pizza. After that you can head outside for some fun wintery photos too! There is also the option to find a fun studio or indoor place like a greenhouse. Studios or other indoor places typically have a rental fee, but they are a great option if you aren't interested in being cold during your session. Scroll down to see a cute studio one of my couple's found for their engagement session a few winters ago!
If you do decide to go for it and have your session outside, I always recommend embracing it fully! Dress up in a cute coat and scarf and winter boots. Be ready to roll around or toss a snowball at one another! You might end the session with a red nose and frozen fingers, but I promise it will be a session filled with belly laughs and big smiles.
